The Scientific Process of a Lava Lamp

The Scientific Process of a Lava Lamp
Who knew you could create a lava lamp with just four ingredients? Water, oil, food coloring, and an Alka Seltzer tablet creates a chemical reaction that is similar to lava lamps. This video is how the lab went, the procedures my partners and I needed to accomplish, and how the experiment reacted.  Watch below to learn more about the lab.

  1. I like how organised and clean you video it and the background video as well as the visuals at the end. Next time you could explain molecules more thoroughly. What is an example of another heterogenous mixture?

  2. I really like you had very good visuals and you were very organized. This was very interesting to watch, and I like how you went into so much depth, without being too repetitive. In the video you stated that you knew that the food dye would only color the water, but how did you know this?

  3. I like how you talked over the video and how you added music but, I think it would be better if you added clearer videos when you added in the tablet. What happens to the tablet when it reacts?

  4. I really enjoyed your video! The videos of you doing the lab were very helpful visuals. Next time, you could describe other homogeneous mixtures in the lab, like the water and food coloring. How long did it take for you to complete the lab?
